NYC Mission Trip

The POINT is sending eight students and three leaders to New York City on July 17 until July 25 to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in the most diverse city in the world.

Why is this important? Because Jesus is important. There are millions of people in New York City who don't have a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. It is our calling to be faithful to share this most important truth with a lost city. So we have taken the challenge to send out our own to NYC and help people in a number of different ways.

Three of our missionaries will be involved with Vacation Bible School at Brooklyn Tabernacle in NYC. This mission is focused on the children, mostly unchurched children. There will be plenty of opportunities to be a picture of Jesus Christ to so many children and also opportunities to share the gospel with them.

Eight of our missionaries will be involved in Steets and Parks. This mission involves a prayer station in which people will approach the prayer station asking for prayer for a number of different things. Our goal is to pray for their needs and if God opens a door to share the gospel, we will do so. The other aspect of Steets and Parks is a spiritual questionaire. We will be walking the steets and the parks to ask people if they are willing to answer a few questions. If so, we ask them the spiritually provoking questions and hopefully God gives us an opportunity to share the gospel with these individuals.

All of this is done only by the power of the Holy Spirit within us. One sows, another reaps, but God gives the increase. We live by Paul's statement! And another...I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. We live and breathe by the confidence we have been given in Christ! Please pray for us as we venture to grow spiritually and share the good news of Jesus Christ to a lost city!
